HOUSE RESOLUTION 16

Memorializing the life of Charlie Hampton, husband, father, Navy veteran, fisherman, amateur radio operator and former employee.

Whereas, Charlie Hampton was born on December 1, 1941; and

Whereas, Charlie Hampton was married to the love of his life, Margaret, for fifty years.  Charlie and Margaret were the proud parents of one son, Anthony; and

Whereas, Charlie Hampton was a Navy veteran; and

Whereas, Charlie Hampton worked for various telephone companies in the state and served in the Telephone Pioneers of West Virginia; and

Whereas, Beginning December 8, 1994, Charlie Hampton served as an employee of the Legislature until June 30, 2008; and

Whereas, Charlie always was cheerful and helpful to everyone as he performed his legislative duties; and

Whereas, Charlie Hampton was serving as Secretary for the Jackson County Aeromodelers Club at his death and was also active in amateur radio and was a member of Trout Unlimited and  served  as a volunteer stream stocker; and

Whereas, Sadly, Charlie Hampton passed away on January 27, 2016; therefore, be it

Resolved by the House of Delegates:

That the House of Delegates hereby memorializes the life of Charlie Hampton, husband, father, Navy veteran, fisherman, amateur radio operator and former employee; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the House of Delegates hereby extends its sincere sympathy at the passing of Charlie Hampton; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates, forward a certified copy of this resolution to the family of Charlie Hampton.
